Why New Year’s Eve is Important to Your Sex Life

Hard to believe, but today is the last day of 2011. I often hear people say how over-rated they think New Year’s Eve is, and I often agree. However, when it comes to your sex life, New Year’s Eve is far from over-rated.

In one of our recent Good in Bed Surveys, we asked over 2,000 participants to answer questions regarding how various holidays impact their relationship and sex life. Although NYE didn’t rank as the number one sexiest holiday (winter holidays such as Christmas and Hanukkah took that spot), NYE was ranked number two. And although NYE didn’t rank as the number one holiday to make extra effort sexually (Valentine’s Day took that spot), NYE was ranked number two.

Now, you may be thinking the number two spot is nothing to brag about, but I beg to differ, especially with these stats:

  • 31% of men and 37% of women believed that NYE was the sexiest holiday, aside from Valentine’s Day
  • 46.7% of men and 47.3% of women were very likely to put in extra effort to be sexual with their partner on NYE
  • 27.7% of men and 22.8% of women were a little bit likely to put in extra effort to be sexual with their partner on NYE

So NYE may be over-rated, but if either you or your partner are in that 74.4% of men or 70.1% of women who are very or a little bit likely to put in extra effort to be sexual with a partner on NYE, you might be in for a spectacular night, at least when it comes to sex.

From Good in Bed to you…we wish you and yours a very happy, healthy, and sexy New Year…and all the best for 2012!
